Stuff that has happened on the Now or Never website or the real world As we add new articles we will tell you here Oct 18th Comments We've added comments to our articles pages as a trial - so if you want to tell us how shit you think an article is or have got anything useful to add then try it out - you can use it anonomously if your worried about privacy but if your a complete IT junkie you can log on with Facebook and your comments link up with it (apparently) More on FAQ Sept 14th Blacklisting Bastards We've updated the various pages of this campaign- summarising what's happened so far with the Consultancy Association and the construction giants that used and funded its blacklist (jack shit!); as well as a few other bits of info. Which blacklisting veteran is now chair of a probation board - find out by starting with the Blacklist summary
Sept 12th Porn for Prisoners Our campaign has kicked up a gear. We had an interesting leafletting session in Norwich - we got some stick but we also got some offers of porn collections. We have updated the webpage with other prison links and our new leaflet. This is where you come in: you can download the leaflet, print it off and pass them on - take a look: Porn for Prisoners
August 22nd Benefit Snoopers If you have joined the swelling ranks of the dole scum you might well come across the benefit snoopers, designed to see if you are the deserving or undeserving poor - turn the experience into fun with this guide to dealing with the benefit snoopers
July 7th Polyp Interview Radical and satirical cartoonist Polyp talks to Now or Never about Ronald Reagan's arse, Christian Aid table football and his new cartoon books. Read it Polyp Interview
July 1st Last Ever Michael Jackson Interview The fact we seemed to have one of the last ever interviews with Michael Jackson in issue 15 of our magazine went down well at Glastonbury. Watching people as they succumbed to the confusion of Now or Never was worth the money we lost doing Glastonbury (this seems usual for Green area stalls). For your memorial copy of the Michael Jackson Interview buy Now or Never issue 15
June 22nd We need your porn. We have added a new Campaigns section to the website. To start off we have two campaigns - Blacklisting Bastards is a look at firms running and using blacklists, any info you can find out please send it in. Porn for Prisoners is our way of being righteous by encouraging recycling and supporting prisoners - throw yourself into the campaign and send us your old porn June 10th Strawberry Fair - Another great day out despite the lary drunks A massive thanks to the green field crew for all their work so we can turn up and enjoy ourselves
May 12th New Issue out now! - Issue 15 is finally here! It was delayed due to a near walk out of print workers. We then took it to a few events over the May Day weekend and copies were stolen and burnt. Some people just don't get our brand of humour! If you want to find out what the fuss is about buy your copy here If you're looking for tie-in articles such as Blacklisting Bastards and Porn for Prisoners theyll be up soon
May 10th Website changes - if you have been logging in over the last two weeks you may have been driven mad by the constant chopping and changing that's been going on, hopefully it has all settled down now. We've tried to update it to go with the new Now or Never! magazine, there are a few glitches due to the webhosting service being pants but if you find any real cock ups let us know. April 28th Links - We have added a David Links section to the Links page - mostly for our own amusement, but if you can think of any more Davids that could go on there let us know
April 15th Taking the Piss - This has been our most popular article so far so we finally decided to put it up here on the website and it really is one of our reporters drinking his own urine for a week. Find out if it is better to boil it for tea, take it neat or turn it into an ice lolly: Piss Drinking. We were not sure if this was in the pursuit of science or religion but we plumped for DIY in case you want to try it at home for yourself. April 3rd G20 Action/Storm the Banks - Well we had a fun day out in the city but it seemed a passerby got caught up in the police road blocks and charges and has died. Although we might have a report in the next Now or Never magazine we don't do 'by the minute reporting' on the website but the reports on Indymedia seem to back up our experience of the day, the Indymedia G20 Reporting section on their website gives a timeline for April 1st and they also have links to eyewitnesses etc of the guy that died. For Indymedia see our links - you sure as hell can't believe the Sun etc (Indymedia can also keep you upto date on things like the car plant and school occupations) PS: Incitement to riot? "These bankers... we need to get the boot in and start kicking... we must stand outside their homes throwing rocks through their windows" says Max Hastings political commentator in the Daily Mail two weeks ago
March 23rd G8 Action - With the bigwigs from the G20 countries coming to London in a few weeks to eat expensive meals and talk about the financial crisis it seemed time to pull this out of the Now or Never history files so that lessons can be learned and embarassment can be had. It's a report from actions against the G8 summit in Scotland - it's a bit of a long read but if you want to know how anarchists just about managed to find their way out of a paper bag then read this: G8 Action
March 20th The Muppet Show - Tug and Harry, two Now or Never stalwarts visited rascaly old anarchist Ian Bone's radio show. If you want to hear these two muppets completely fail to explain what Now or Never is while Ian gives up and talks about Cromer visit Ian's blog from March 9th via our Links
Feb 24th With news of pyramid scams and fraudsters catching out the rich and gullible here is a small piece from an old Now or Never on one of the great sales scams of history: the KKK all great goblins and insurance sales
Feb 10th Specially for valentine's day and to prove we will review anything, here is My Brother's Party from a very old Now or Never when a fool thought baby sitting his brother's party was a romantic way to spend valentine's day - it is not.
Jan 28th Due to requests we will be adding the occasional demo report from way back as historical records in a new History section. Some will be from old Now or Never's but if you have any old reports or diary entries from some shoddy demo you've been on then please send them in. In the meantime here is a report of the first Stop the War march back in 2003 that so succesfully stopped the war. The reporter now claims his interest in shoes forsaw the current shoe throwing protests, where as in actual fact he was just drunk. Jan 22nd Well we've stopped playing with our presents and drunk the remains of the xmas brandy so we've now had time to add some more books to the Now or Never Bookshop. Any resemblance to unwanted xmas gifts is purely coincidence.
Dec 13th Miracle Healing - Up for christmas: A Now or Never! lacky puts his soul on the line by visiting a pentecostal church to see if it's as wierd as you'd think. As they spoke in tongues, did miracle healing and took bucket loads of cash he escaped to write about a Miracle Healing pentecostal church
Nov 30th Campbell Soup - Some upset locals from Kings Lynn welcome Alistair Campbell with tins of Campbell's Bullshit Soup and tell Now or Never their story Nov 29th
Flux of Pink Indians / Subhumans After getting caught in traffic due to a burst watermain and missing the first two bands we sold a number of mags to some joyously drunk punks and had a number of sureal heated arguements, about whether Mao had a sexy face, with others. (If you want a copy of the only UK Maoist magazine with a colour cover then get it free with issue 14 of Now or Never from the shop )
Nov 16th Beanfield Remembered - Here's a story from when the Tories were last in power, (Think Cartman, from Southpark, in government) as one of the battered tree loving hippies remembers here
Nov 3rd Free TV - If you have always wanted to watch TV on a crappy computer instead of a decent TV you can find out how here in our DIY section
20th-25th October 2008 A fate worse than death Despite the church owners of the venue throwing a wobbly when they saw the content of the week the organisers managed to pull off a new venue (down some dodgy back alley) and an excellent week - we had fun at the comedy event as they gave Now or Never access to free rum (the fools) For more mooncalf events see Links
Oct 18th Anarchist Bookfair We had a good time at this event but one thing we noticed was there was a lot less angry people there this year. This is the first year we haven't offended anyone or had full scale rows. It was a bit worrying. Our sweepstake on what people would find offensive this year went unclaimed. It might have been that the stalls had more space so people were not so crushed and angry or perhaps we are losing our touch! For anarchist bookfair details see Links
Oct 17th New Issue Out Now! Get your hands on the latest Now or Never! magazine from the Shop It is full of the most amazing amount of crap you can get between two confusing covers.
Oct Old Moore's Almanack This is not new but after seeing these on sale last week at the local WH Smiths thought it worth a refresher: - A few years back Now or Never pitted a drunken guess against the world's oldest astrologer. Taking an in depth analysis of these yearly predictions did we find it to be utterly believable or utter shit? Have a look here at old moore's almanack
Sept We are currently scurrying around trying to get the next issue of the Now or Never magazine together and have noticed we are extremely skint and will soon have to pay for printing with only ten pence and a chocolate coin in the kittie, so any donations would be extremely useful. If you can spare a dime please see Shop or Contacts
Sept 7th Waveney Greenpeace Fair
This was a damp day out which, again, we only just made it too. Drizzle and old but very active hippies. Aug 28th Deportation Prison - An insight into what it is actually like in a detention centre and a comparison to normal prisons. This is a first hand account for Now or Never of Basel centre by Serbian illegal immigrant, Sasa, who is outraged about the wrong type of sugar on the cakes in this deportation prison.
Aug 17th Green Man Fayre- This was a chilled out weekend which we nearly didn't make due to injuries and work commitments and had to do some last minute running round to make it. Well done for those putting this weekend on and good luck with whatever is next. This event confirmed our suspicions that our back cover of a half naked lady is more popular than Now or Never's proper cover.
Aug 8th Starbucks - Added to our Anarchy section: Starbucks gets a roasting as workers try to grind out a fair share of beans in this interview with a member of the Starbucks Union
July 17th Bookshop - We found a load of books in a friend's attic so we have added a Now or Never bookshop Comic Books, Political Books and Tatty pamphlets can be found there
June 26th - 30th Glastonbury Festival - We added some big flowers and pirate bunting to the stall and gave it a love/hate complex. We lost money but had a chilled time - arguing about anarchy with stoned hippies is always fun
June 7th Strawberry Fair - Probably the best free fair still going. We did a few hours of stewarding and could be found supping beer and selling our wares from a colourful tent in the green area.
